Young Tourism Network Celebrates Fifth Birthday
On Thursday 26th August over 100 upcoming industry professionals celebrated the Young Tourism Network’s fifth anniversary at Hilton Melbourne South Wharf. Embracing a Spanish theme, the event celebrated the contribution of the volunteers and members of the Young Tourism Network. The Hon Tim Holding MP, Minister for Tourism and Major Events was the keynote speaker.
The network was established 5 years ago with the aim of assisting young tourism professionals develop their skills and contacts. Since then, the membership base has grown significantly and now has over 400 members, ranging from students to industry professionals.
Penny Wilson, Chair of the Young Tourism Network said “Members of the YTN have access to a great range of benefits, including professional development events, industry networking and notifications of job vacancies. It was fantastic to celebrate five years of the YTN with over 100 members and industry leaders”.
Previous events held by the Young Tourism Network have included sports and major events tourism at the National Sports Museum, a Victorian tourism industry CEO forum and a behind the scenes tour of the new Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The Young Tourism Network is auspiced by Tourism Alliance Victoria and supported by industry partners including Tourism Victoria, City of Melbourne, Victoria University, William Angliss Institute, AAA Tourism and Destination Melbourne Limited.
