Tourism and hospitality labour force survey
The tourism and hospitality labour force survey is closing on 29 May 2011. This survey is an important initiative under the National Long-Term Tourism Strategy for the Federal Government and aims to understand the tourism and hospitality industry’s labour and skills needs. It gives the tourism industry an important opportunity to have a voice on these issues.
The survey can be accessed from the department of Resources, Energy and Tourism website at www.tourism.gov.au/survey.
We encourage businesses to partake in this survey.

Destination Gippsland is the peak tourism body for the Gippsland region. We build strong partnerships to unite the industry and provide clear direction through tourism strategies. We support the development of infrastructure and new product and we provide professional development programs to industry to improve the visitor experience.
Our overarching objective is to let Australia, and the world, know about what a fantastic place Gippsland is to visit. Our key vision is that by 2012 the region will be embraced as an exceptional nature based destination. With heart pumping valleys, pristine beaches and lakes to snow capped mountains, it shouldn’t be too hard.
Destination Gippsland won the award for Tourism Marketing at the Victorian Tourism Awards in 2010, which inducted us into the prestigious Hall of Fame. We won the Australian Tourism Award for Tourism Marketing announced in March 2011. We continually strive to improve the organisation as well as the professionalism and training of the Gippsland tourism industry.
